Disaster Recovery Services

Pre Event

  • Update all training resources and reference material.
  • Train evaluators and staff.
  • Refine software and hardware resources.
  • Procure administration supplies.
During the Event
  • Establish local administration offices.
  • Establish claim-processing facilities within hours of a program being declared.
  • Hire local support and evaluation staff from the jurisdiction where the disaster recovery program will be administered.
  • Hire temporary and contract manpower resources (eligible for federal cost sharing).
  • Provide program-specific training to all staff and contractors.
  • Transport and install the data management and computer processing equipment and software to process all claims submitted under the program for individuals, small businesses and not-for-profit organizations. We provide the contractee with a copy of the software for future use within their own organization at no cost once a Program is complete.
  • Provide a team of evaluators with disaster recovery program experience; most importantly, they are aware of the conditions under which Disaster Financial Assistance Arrangements (DFAA) is administered. This is done to ensure that the opportunity for full cost-sharing with the Federal government is achieved. LandLink currently has available approximately 100 evaluators on our firms’ roster that meet these criteria.
  • Provide government infrastructure evaluation management, as well as claims administration to ensure that all payments made to other levels of government meet the requirements of the Program. Our infrastructure experts have long-term highway and infrastructure experience. They are very familiar with damages created by natural disasters and the means required to repair these damages.
  • Management of the claims evaluation and processing components up to and including, the request for final payment by the government.
Post Event
  • Provide ongoing management reports to Senior Government Officials.
  • Manage the outcome of complicated claims.
  • Work closely with municipal governments to ensure infrastructure claims are effectively substantiated.
  • Management of the preparation of the claim for submission to the Federal government under the DFAA, and respond to all queries from Consulting and Audit Canada regarding that claim. We assist the Executive Director of Emergency Management Alberta to develop policy issues, and respond to those issues during the Federal Audit.
  • Provision of digital and paper copies of the files to the government archives once a Program has been completed.
