Our Qualifications

LandLink’s team includes members who have played a leadership role in the development of restoration/recovery policies. We have made recommendations for policy and regulatory amendments based upon our experience in working with Provincial Regulations and Disaster Financial Assistance Arrangements (DFAA). This has proven beneficial to Alberta in addressing the criteria set out in the DFAA to ensure maximum Federal Cost Sharing.

Our performance has been well received by our major client, the Government of Alberta. During the first year of our business, LandLink coordinated the delivery of the 1995 Southern Alberta Disaster Program. This was the largest program in Alberta’s history. Subsequently, the Executive Director of Emergency Management Alberta, advised that our performance had exceeded expectations and past history for this type and magnitude of Program. We have continued to learn from our experience and implement changes to increase our productivity in many ways. Some basic standards of achievement are as follows:

  • A local administration and claims processing office is set up within 24 hours of a program being declared.
  • Application information is input, and an acknowledgment letter is mailed, within 24 hours of the application being received.
  • An evaluator will visit residential claimants within 30 days. In all cases we strive for a higher level of performance, for example, within 10 working days.
  • We establish performance standards for all contractors working on the Program.
  • With the assistance of the Alberta government finance department, on average, payments were made within two weeks of the finalizing of an evaluator’s report.
  • Management reporting to Government officials on a agreed to schedule.

We provide the internal auditor, Provincial Auditor and Emergency Preparedness Canada (EPC) with digital records required to complete their review in a timely manner.

We believe that we can administer any Disaster Recovery program anywhere in Canada, within the DFAA standards. Where cost-effective, we have hired local staff, trained them, and managed their performance to ensure that the Contractee gains maximum cost efficiency.

Our team members have had experience in Crisis Management, an invaluable asset when dealing with emergency response.

The LandLink team has had considerable success in gaining stakeholder commitment in all of the projects we have administered, an essential skill when looking after the well-being of citizens.
